Sharing some recent good news after the super stressful March a.k.a. School Music Festival season😵‍💫🎉🍾

1) Christi won 1st in the Piano Grade 4 category. It’s her first live competition so super great job!!

2) Yinglan won 3rd in the Composer of the Year (Fauré) category. She won 2nd last year with Rachmaninoff🤣 I mean Fauré is really not easy to interpret isn’t it

3) Ako won 1st in the Sonatina category in the Fringe music competition👏

4) Oto won 3rd in the Piano Grade 8 category in the Fringe music competition👏

5) Alice won 1st in Clarinet solo (secondary school junior) category👏

6) Charmaine won 2nd in the N828 String Scholarship Category. A super super competitive one, great job!

7) Arthur won 3rd in the Violin Concerto (age 13 or under) category👏

Congratulations to all! I truly believe one’s musicality should not be defined only by competition results #比賽成績不等於一切, but I am happy to see my students being motivated and working so hard to achieve their goals!

it’s a shame I didn’t get to know this Violin Sonata earlier😅 Definitely a lesser-known masterpiece. Thank you @alvin_violinn for the passionate playing and introducing this great music to me

Update! I finished the last doctoral exam on [3/16/2022] and am finally a piano doctor😎

I am truly thankful for my advisor and mentor Tim Lovelace, committee Prof. Alexander Braginsky, Prof. Alex Lubet and Prof. Immanuel Davis.

I had never imagined I would do a doctoral degree, but when it comes to your passion, even studying seems quite fun! A BIG thank you to everyone who had been there for me in my journey!🥰
